Mel Pachino Recovering after Bicycle Crash with Car

Baltimore Jewish Life.com has an update on the Pikesville resident and pharmacist's progress in physical and occupational therapy, after suffering potentially life-threatening injuries last month.

Thirty-three days after he was struck by a car while bicycling in the area near Pikesville High School, Melvin Pachino is on a road to recovery.

"OT and PT were challenging," Judy Pachino wrote Wednesday on Baltimore Jewish Life.com.

Pachino, 52, a pharmacist and resident of Waco Court in the Wellwood area of Pikesville, was seriously injured the morning of May 3 as he was cycling westbound on Smith Road.

A car struck him at Carla Avenue, Baltimore County police said.

He was flown to Shock Trauma with potentially life-threatening injuries, according to a news release that day.
