Forecast: Thunderstorms Could Be Severe, Gusts Possible

The National Weather Service's Pikesville forecast calls for some severe storms this afternoon and tonight. Thunderstorms could continue Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Pikesville and the surrounding areas, including central Maryland, northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.

According to the outlook, there won't be too much rain—much less than an inch—but there could be "strong to severe" thunderstorms today, as well as "possible damaging wind gusts."

In Pikesville specifically, the NWS expects showers and possible thunderstorms today through 11 p.m., with a 60 percent chance of rain today and a 30 percent chance tonight.

The high today will be about 90 degrees, and the low 69 degrees, the Pikesville forecast states.

For Wednesday, the NWS notes only a 20 percent chance of showers before 2 p.m.
