Finally Friday, Pikesville

Weather, Super Bowl and the Colts.

WEATHER

There's an interesting weather weekend ahead, even though no snow is in the forecast until next Thursday — when, so far, The National Weather Service says there's only a 30 percent chance of the white stuff.

Back to this week. First, some freezing rain is expected to fall overnight tonight, Friday, Feb. 4, through 4 a.m. Saturday. But get this: According to The National Weather Service there won't be any ice accumulation. So, no worries, right? Hope so. We'll see. (Recall the scares earlier this week about ice storms that ultimately produced mostly rain?)

And rain or freezing rain is expected again early Saturday morning, up until 7 a.m., according to the NWS. But the high of 38 degrees should stop more of that from occurring throughout the day. Saturday night could bring some winds of 14-16 mph.

Here's the forecast for Super Bowl Sunday, according to the NWS:

COLTS GATHER: Yes, the Colts.

It's time to buy tickets to the Sports Legends Museum and Fourth & Goal's "Corrallin' The Colts" event on March 6.

It's a bull and oyster roast that will feature Bert Jones, Bruce Laird, Lydell Mitchell and other members of the 1975, 1976 and 1977 Division Champion Baltimore Colts, according to a news release from Maroon PR in Columbia, MD.

The event costs $60 per ticket and will be held near Pikesville at Martin's West, 6817 Dogwood Road, Woodlawn.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards and Fourth & Goal’s efforts to assist retired NFL players, the release states.

“The Baltimore Colts teams of the late '70s were dominating forces in the NFL,” Mike Gibbons, executive director of the Babe Ruth Museum, stated in the release.  “Baltimore Colts fans had strong connection with players, from these teams and others, and we’re looking forward to reuniting everyone in celebration of some great squads.”

Sponsorships are also available at varying levels.  To purchase tickets or to become a sponsor, call 410-727-1539, Ext. 3033.
