WEEKLY FARMER'S MARKET BEGINS FRIDAY, MAY 2 AT METRO CENTRE AT OWINGS MILLS

OWINGS MILLS, MD (April 16, 2014) – More than 40 different vendors will be selling locally-grown fruits, vegetables, dairy products, flowers and other food items at the Metro Centre at Owings Mills Farmer’s Market, which will be held weekly beginning Friday, May 2. The market will be located in the outdoor Plaza area of Metro Centre at Owings Mills, adjacent to the County Campus building which houses a branch of the Baltimore County Library and the Community College of Baltimore.             A partial list of vendors includes Deception Salsa, Stillhouse Sauces, Mama Vida Tapenades (Italian spreads), Cathy’s Ginger Spices and Drinks, Lauren’s Lotions (vegan lotions), The Great Cookie, Noni’s All-Natural Pasta Sauces, Mobtown Meat Snacks (all natural local jerky), Greenbird Farm, The Mallow Bar (marshmallow treats), Gravel Springs Farm and Chesapeake Aquaponics, Phil’s Dills (pickles), Big Bean Theory (bean-based cuisines) and Addison’s Bakery (baked goods, including gluten-free).

            The Farmer’s Market will be managed by Darla Cornett, a Franklin High School graduate now living in Annapolis who also founded Nonis Sauces.

Metro Centre at Owings Mills is designed to support more than 1.2 million square feet of Class “A” office space; 200,000 square feet of complementary retail space; 1700 residential units; educational facilities totaling 120,000 square feet and a hotel component. Two five-story buildings, cumulatively containing 56,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and 240 market-rate apartment homes on the upper four floors, were completed in late 2013.
