Vantage House Hosts Party for Candlelight Concert Society

Vantage House retirement community will host “The Great American Songbook by Candlelight,” a fundraiser for the Candlelight Concert Society on Saturday, April 5, from 9-11:30 p.m. 

The cabaret style party will feature well-known pianist Patricia (Patty) Hammer, an open wine bar and refreshments prepared by Vantage House Chef Nile Sara.  The dress is cocktail attire, black tie optional. County Council member Mary Kay Sigaty is Honorary Chair. 

“The Great American Songbook by Candlelight” follows a performance by the New York Chamber Soloists at 7 p.m. at Smith Theatre, Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center, Howard Community College.   The 13-member ensemble of strings, winds, piano and harpsichord will perform an all-American program, highlighted by Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring.”

Candlelight is one of the original arts organizations in Columbia and features world renowned musicians in concert.  Vantage House is distinguished by its extensive cultural and educational activities. It is located at 5400 Vantage Point Road in Columbia. 

Tickets to the fundraiser are $50, $100 for patrons.  Tickets to both the concert and gala are $75, $125 for patrons.  Call 410-997-2324 or order tickets at www.candlelightconcerts.org
