Baltimore Resident Gabrielle Forest Receives Massage Envy Spa Scholarship

Local resident Gabrielle Forest was awarded a $250 Massage Envy Spa Scholarship to help her acquire her Maryland State Massage Therapist License. Through a new partnership with Fortis Institute, Massage Envy Spas in the Maryland, Washington D.C, and Northern Virginia region are supporting the education of local students and the growth of the industry. Forest is the inaugural recipient of the Massage Envy Spa Scholarship from Fortis Institute in Towson, Maryland.

“Massage Envy Spa is awarding this scholarship to a very deserving young woman with an exciting future in massage therapy,” says Winston Moore, Regional Director of Therapist Development at Massage Envy Spa. “We are proud to strengthen our partnership with Fortis Institute as they educate high-quality massage therapy and spa professionals, and to support their graduates.”

Forest was selected by a panel of area Massage Envy Spa franchise owners to receive the scholarship after maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the seven and a half-month massage therapy course at Fortis Institute and submitting a video essay.

Unable to complete her initial dream of receiving a traditional college education, Forest found her true self in helping others. Driven to provide care for those in need and to succeed academically, she found her way to Fortis Institute in pursuit of a career in massage therapy. After she receives her Maryland State Massage Therapist License, Forest plans on working for Massage Envy Spa. 

“I always strive to exceed expectations both in my accomplishments and through caring for others. By improving clients’ health and well-being, I hope to make a meaningful difference in their lives,” said Forest.
