Maryland Public Television’s 'Impressions with Rhea Feikin' To Feature Best-selling Romance, Mystery Novelist Nora Roberts

Nora Roberts, New York Times best-selling author, will be featured on Maryland Public Television’s Impressions with Rhea Feikin on November 21, 2012, at 8 p.m.

Dubbed “America’s favorite novelist” by The New Yorker, Nora Roberts has written more than 200 novels, including the Chesapeake Bay Saga and, most recently, the BoonsBoro Trilogy.  The trilogy stories unfold in the quaint Western Maryland town, Boonsboro, which the Roberts family has done so much to re-invent in real life.  Avid readers and Boonsboro citizens will recognize local landmarks such as Inn BoonsBoro, Turn the Page Bookstore and Vesta Pizzeria in her fiction.

During the half-hour special, “Ms. Roberts discusses her work ethic, rising early to write all day, every day of the work week.  On weekends she relaxes and works out the details of her next book,” says MPT’s Rhea Feikin, who interviewed her for the show.  “Her writing desk in her home office overlooks a spectacular view of the woods in Western Maryland and is built like a ‘command center.’”

“Nora Roberts is by no means all work and no play; the novelist confesses a lusty passion for designer shoes and earrings,” according to Ms. Feikin.

Nora Roberts tops the charts in two genres: popular romance and her gritty “In Death” crime series, written under the pseudonym J.D. Robb.  More than 400 million of her books are in print worldwide.

Impressions, hosted by Rhea Feikin, is a series of revealing interviews with prominent Marylanders designed to evoke understanding and appreciation of what has brought each of them to a position of prominence. The Nora Roberts interview represents the eighth program in the series.
