I know you must have heard this a hundred times by restaurant owners, something like, 'we definitely have the best crab cakes and crab soup.' I know I have.
With this restaurant that statement is true. Their crab cakes and crab soup are certainly second to none.
I'm talking about Patrick's Restaurant and Pub of Cockeysville, 550 Cranbrook Road. All the food is prepared under the watch of certified executive Chef Carole, a graduate of the Culinary Institute and former owner of Buddy's on Charles Street.
Her range is far beyond simply seafood. The menu offers selections of steaks, pastas, Spanish dishes, soup, chicken and salads. In the case of Patrick's, too many chefs don't spoil the pot.
If you don't have time to go in and sit down and enjoy the restaurant, you can always call ahead for carry-out. Patrick's also does lots of off-premise catering and they can ship those crab cakes nationwide. No worries about parking, plenty of it directly in front.
Once finished your meal, or even while waiting for your carry-out order, you simply must go into the bar and check out all the sports memorabilia. It's heavy with memories of Johnny Unitas. You can't help but noticing the hanging lights, which comes directly from Unitas' Golden Arm restaurant.
Patrick's is open seven days for lunch and dinner with seating for about 280, and that includes the private dining areas. Sunday Brunch is served 11:30 to 2:30. For more information call 410-683-0604 or go to patricksrestaurant.com.
By the way, Carole is a local who is very involved with the community.
