Best Tip for Grand Prix: Get Ear Plugs

Having experienced the inaugural race last year, I offer a few tips on how to be ready for this year's Baltimore Grand Prix, which starts today.

Come prepared with sun screen, hat and comfortable walking shoes.

Do not drive, take the light rail or another form of public transportation.

MOST important are ear plugs.  I got mine from a big box hardware store, 3M disposable ear plugs, 30 for less then $5.00.

A tip to enjoy the day is to rent a race scanner at the track about $30 for the day or $35 for the entire weekend. It lets you listen to drivers, pit crews and race announcers. The scanner will keep you informed on running order, crashes, delays and restarts.

There are  lots of practice sessions, and several different races, Indy car, ALMS, Indy Lite, and Masda Star races.

Enjoy the race weekend.
