Open mic night for stand-up comedians is set for Sunday in Timonium at the bar and grill.
The annual Night Under the Stars event at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation in Pikesville will honor Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Jill Kamenetz.
Capitol Steps troupe will perform skits and songs April 25 during Baltimore Hebrew Congregation's third annual Night Under the Stars. The event begins at 8 p.m. in the congregation's Dalsheimer Theater, and will benefit the religious school, youth programs and more, according to a news release from the congregation. The event honors Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and Jill Kamenetz, his wife, the release states. Tickets range from $50-$150, and are available on the congregation website, or by calling 443-524-0284.

The two groups performed Saturday at the Arundel Indoor Spectacular at Arundel High School.
Two Pikesville groups performed Saturday at a showcase at Arundel High School. The show featured a total of seven groups performing dance, percussion and color guard routines. One Pikesville group, called In Progress, performed an interpretation os selections from The Lion King. Another Pikesville group, In Theory, gave a performance based on the theme "What is Time?" Other highlights included: The Arundel color guard capped off the afternoon with its performance of "Be Yourself," which tells the story of a young girl whose dolls come to life. The award-winning performance features a rousing routine set to the song "Barbie Girl" by Aqua.

Renovations are under way to return the old movie house to its roots.
It's reel-y happening. Movies will play again at Pikes Theatre after almost three decades without its silver screen. The Baltimore Jewish Times reports plans are under way to turn the theater—now the Pikes Diner—back to its former glory. The paper reports the new theater will have two 25-by-13 foot screens, and each screening room will seat 80. The theater would be open seven days a week and show first-run films. Pikes told the Times that the new theater could open as soon as July. “It’s like a godsend because, the fact is, I really can’t think of anything else to create activity down here,” owner Wil Reich told the paper. “I can’t think of anything that would benefit the 900- and 1000-blocks of Reisterstown Road more than this concept.” …
