VIDEO: Do You Know The 'Bring On Brady' Band
A family of Ravens fans created this Ravens-themed cover of "Call Me Maybe" in time for your purple Friday.
Just in time for the most important Purple Friday of the year (so far), this enthusiastic group of Ravens fans uploaded this video to YouTube.
It's a cover of the summer smash-hit "Call Me Maybe" with a decidedly pro-Ravens spin ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship rematch against the New England Patriots.
The creator, who's YouTube account is RobinsMatt, posted the following comments with the song: "It's AFC Championship week and we thought we'd show our support with a song! The lyrics are mine but the song parodied is "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen and she owns all rights to it and whatnot.
We're comin for you again, Patriots, but this time we brought a real kicker. You may have already met. ;)"
Do you know the performers in the video above? What do you think of the song? What's your prediction for this week's game? Tell us in the comments.
Lyrics below:
They said it couldn't be done
Peyton had already won
But we'd only just begun
Now they're outta the way
And now they're sayin' again
Nine and a half points to win
The coronation begins
But they're just in our way
Defense is holdin'
Torrey, Jones and Boldin
Justin Tucker's golden
I know where we're goin', baby!
Hey, everyone else
Might think we're crazy
But we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
It's hard to not think
Our destiny
Is in New Orleans
So bring on Brady
Hey, everyone else
Might think we're crazy
But we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
And all the talking heads
Don't upset me
'Cuz we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
The General will retire
He has us playing inspired
And with a burning desire
But still, they're in our way
Joe Flacco's play is elite
The line is not getting beat
And no one's throwing at Reed
But they're in our way
Ray Rice is runnin'
Suggs and Kruger rushin'
Ngata's double-teamin'
I know where we're goin', baby!
Hey, everyone else
Might think we're crazy
But we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
It's hard to not think
Our destiny
Is in New Orleans
So bring on Brady
Hey, everyone else
Might think we're crazy
But we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
And all the talking heads
Don't upset me
'Cuz we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
Before we came up short and now
We want it so bad
We want it so bad
We want it so, so bad
Before we came up short and now
We want it so bad
And they should know that
We want it so, so bad
It's hard to not think
Our destiny
Is in New Orleans
So bring on Brady
Hey, everyone else
Might think we're crazy
But we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
And all the talking heads
Don't upset me
'Cuz we're The Ravens
So bring on Brady
Before we came up short and now
We want it so bad
We want it so bad
We want it so, so bad
Before we came up short and now
We want it so bad
And they should know that
So bring on Brady

Here's a question...... isn't that Stan Robins of Crash Davenport playing the guitar? How many "old" Parkville residents remember them from The Barn in the early to mid eighties?

That is Stan. Their band Picnic plays in and around Salisbury. Here's a recent GaGa cover:

That is Stan alright! I'm his brother Bart, former drummer. Stan's son, Matthew crafted these lyrics and is playing the congo drum. His wife, Sarah, is singing. Stan and I have very fond memories of our days with Crash Davenport at the Barn!

Crash was our favorite band back then. Loved the springsteen they played, and of course the song by Maddness " One Step Beyond " Great sax player, and Bart had the electric drums !! Always saw them at the Barn

We need a new song for the superbowl... that really was great!
Yeah, Crash was great.... with Wright (Pig) on Sax, then Ted and Stan on guitar, but who else but Bart could open an Eddie & The Cruisers song by playing drums with their tennis shoes! Someone out there has to have video of them to post on Youtube. Let us know!!! I have never seen anything. Great memories........ good times. Gosh, I could go on and on..... The Heat & The Cold Sweat Horns..... Mike & Dave.... Bob & Jeff....... fun! Oh and the beer!
Thanks Matt & Sarah for stirring up happy memories!
