State, County List Shelters During Hurricane Sandy

In case you need to go to a shelter, here's the list for the entire state, including twonear the Pikesville area. One is in Baltimore City, and another at the Jewish Community Center in Owings Mills.

 

Baltimore County recommends sheltering in place during the storm, that means staying at home.

But if that's not possible, and you need somewhere to go because of Hurricane Sandy and its effects, here's a list of shelters, provided by Maryland Emergency Management Agency.

On the list are the following, near the Pikesville area:

Winds are strong now, as of 12:34 p.m., but they're going to increase through Monday night, when the forecast calls for gusts of up to 70 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
