Showers, Thunderstorms Could Form Wednesday

Meteorologist Justin Berk says showers will form in the Pikesville area through 3 p.m. Wednesday, and he had spotted one at 1:30 p.m. in Owings Mills/Reisterstown.

There's a 70 percent chance of rain Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service's Pikesville forecast.

Thunderstorms could form before 2 a.m. Thursday, the forecast states.

At 2:19 p.m., independent meteorologist Justin Berk reported storms and lightning on the west side of Baltimore north of Ellicott City.

At about 1:30 p.m. he had tweeted that a new shower system had formed near Owings Mills and Reisterstown.

"Today is going to be our day for storms," Berk had tweeted at about noon. "Watch them develop noon-3 p.m. Local flooding possible."

The high Wednesday is expected to be 78 degrees, according to the NWS. The low could be about 63 degrees.

More showers are possible Thursday, with thunderstorms possible after noon, according to the NWS forecast.

The high Thursday will be about 77 degrees, with a low of around 65 degrees.
