Report: Rodney Getlan Sentenced for Mortgage Fraud
Getlan was accused of stealing more than $100,000 from his victims.
Rodney Getlan, a Baltimore County resident, faces decades in prison for his role in a mortgage fraud. Getlan was sentenced to 35 years in prison with 10 years suspended this week, according to a report by WBAL-TV.
He defrauded as many as 48 victims in the Baltimore area and elsewhere, it states.
In September, he pleaded guilty to nine counts of mortgage fraud, according to another WBAL-TV report.
Court records showed that Getlan is accused of stealing mortgage payments from customers of a loan modification business he ran between January 2009 and January 2012, according to a Patch report.
The alleged thefts resulted in two homeowners losing their homes to foreclosures.
