PNC Bank at Giant Food Robbed Tuesday Afternoon
Baltimore County police: A man robbed the bank at lunchtime.
A man robbed the PNC Bank inside Pikesville's Giant Food Tuesday, and police are still investigating, said Lt. William Lally of the Baltimore County Police Department.
The Pikesville precinct received the report of a bank robbery at about 12:37 p.m., Lally said.
"A man came in and presented a note," he said, noting that there will be more information later Tuesday.
Just after the robbery was reported, a helicopter searched the area near Centre Court in Pikesville, flying over parts of Druid Ridge Cemetery.
Inside Giant Food, the PNC Bank branch was closed, a sign hung in front of the windows, and a sign in the door said "Temporarily Closed." Several employees were inside the branch, with the door locked.
One employee greeted customers as they arrived, and redirected them to the branch at 1819 Reisterstown Road.
The PNC employee refused to comment.
