Pikesville Still Waits for Power

BGE hopes to have power restored by end of weekend.

Pikesville is one of the regions that still has a lot of customers without power, but a BGE spokesman said Tuesday that the company expects to have all service restored by the end of the weekend.

Rob Gould, vice-president and chief communications officer for BGE, said they are well aware of the damage in Pikesville as well as the fact that many remain without power.

"Pikesville was particularly hit hard during this storm," Gould said late Tuesday afternoon. "We are keenly focused on Pikesville."

Gould said they didn't have exact numbers for how many homes in Pikesville were still without power, but he said that about 52,000 people in Baltimore County didn't have any.

Gould said one of the big problems in areas like Stevenson, Park Heights and Mount Washington is that a lot of trees fell on power lines and also hurt poles. This makes restoration of power even harder.

"We understand the challenge the people in the Pikesville area are going through right now without power," Gould said.

Rob Gould would say anything too keep Pikesville quiet about the terrible terrible service we are getting verus other areas. Where are our community leaders to put some "heat" on him and the other high paid BGE people in A/C offices?

BGE should learn how to communicate this is 2012 we all have smart phones and computers. BGE Use your web site to give people information for their specific areas. A map of how many people are out does not help anyone make decisions on what to do go to a hotel stay at home ect. I could not get through was on hold for 1 hour and 5 minutes and no one ever took my call. I called the gas leek emergency number and no one answered that phone either. Public safety means nothing to BGE. People can understand that the storm created big problems but BGE failed because lack of communication and an unwillingness to even supply people with dry ice to keep their food. I had to throw away around $100 of food not a hardship for me but I know many families who are on fixed incomes and the poor cant afford to just discard their food because BGE just does not care about their coustomers
