Pikesville Garden Club Accepting Charter Members
The club will soon become a nonprofit group, with dues and donations tax deductible for 2012 and beyond.
Organizers of the newly forming Pikesville Garden Club plan to coordinate garden tours and trips, attend gardening events and exchange seeds and plants, and more.
While there hasn't been a first meeting yet, and the website is still in the works, the group is accepting applications for charter members, according to founding board member Diane Davison.
Soon, the PGC will become a nonprofit group, affiliated with the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland Inc.
That means all dues and donations will be tax-deductible for 2012 and beyond, an announcement from Davison states.
Those who apply to be charter members will be forever recognized by that title in club records and on the club website, she said.
The membership fee for 2012 is $40 per person. From that fee, $10 goes to the federation, according to the announcement.
The group plans to hold lectures and workshops, to offer member discounts, and get together to have green fun.
The first meeting will be scheduled this summer, Davison said.
Interested residents can apply to be a charter member by printing out the attached application, and emailing it or mailing it to the address on the application, Davison said.
