Alarm Scares Burglars into Abandoning Bikes

Scared by an alarm, burglars ran away and abandoned their bikes in a backyard at a residence in this block.

Burglars abandoned two bicycles in a backyard on Sunday, authorities said.
At about 2:50 a.m., at least two people on bicycles came into a resident's property and unlocked the door to the basement stairs, according to a police report.
However, before they got into the building, located in the 3500 block of Barton Oaks Road, an alarm sounded, and the scared burglars ran, the police report states.
Police said they searched the area but could not find the burglars.
