Pikesville High athletes, as well as those in other Baltimore County Public Schools, will have to adjust to some new academic requirements next school year.
According to a recent BCPS statement posted on the school's website, a student won’t be eligible for sports if they have lower than a 2.0 GPA.
That should include no more than one "failing, incomplete or medical grade" in the grading period before the start of the athletic season, it states.
This won’t apply to incoming freshmen in the fall.
There are additional rules for a student who returns after withdrawing from school, and more.
