Officer J.J. Posluszny Jr. urges each neighborhood in the Pikesville precinct to choose a representative to send to monthly Police & Community Relations Council meetings.
The meetings are a time to hear what's going on in the community, to meet with Baltimore County police, to voice concerns, and get solutions to resolve some community issues.
For example, in September, Landsman discussed how to prevent burglaries. As the holiday shopping season approaches, the number of burglaries is expected to increase, he has said.
Representatives from about five communities attended the most recent meeting held this week. Posluszny said he would like to have more attend so that police information can be more easily communicated.
Meetings are held at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation.
Snacks are offered at each meeting, and there is a guest speaker as well, said Jerry D'Antoni, PCRC president.
Because of the holiday, the next meeting will be Nov. 15. Guest speakers will be three police officers who will discuss home security. They will also give a home-security demonstration that includes information they learned at a recent safety convention.
