Mosque to Occupy Slade Mansion
Baltimore Hebrew Congregation across Slade Avenue to share its parking lot with new neighbor.
Slade Mansion will soon be occupied by Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, Inc., USA.
The mosque bought the building at the corner of Slade and Park Heights Avenues for $900,000, according to a report in BaltimoreJewishLife.com.
According to a report in JTA: The Global News Service of the Jewish People, Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, across Slade Avenue, has offered to share its parking lot with the mosque.
Baltimore Hebrew Congregation is known for sharing with other religions.
On Sundays, the congregation of First Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist Church uses the synagogue for its own services.
"The former Slade Mansion will be used as a mosque, but outwardly it will remain the same ... " the report states. "It will be utilized for worship on Fridays from 1:30-2:15 p.m., by about 40 families who already live in our general vicinity, and probably for periodic meetings. Currently, the worshipers meet in the Reisterstown Plaza area."
How do you feel about its new owners maintaining the same exterior of Slade Mansion?

Why is it everyone wants to live and pray near or here is something to cause a store. Is this a new form of blockbusting. Fact is there is nothing at all wrong here

Damn shame it couldnt be a facility for members of our community in need like people who struggle with addiction who are forced to live in horrific areas but new we choose to ignore the problem
