Milford Mill Academy has a new addition, gymnasium and other amenities, now that a three-year construction project is complete.

"The ongoing challenge of this long-term project was not interfering with the day-to-day functions of the high school, as well as maintaining a completely safe environment for students, faculty members and visitors,” Joseph Rode, president of Mullan Contracting Company, said in a statement.

Work was completed mainly during school breaks and at night, according to a news release from the Lutherville company.

The project included renovations and additions. New doors, HVAC systems, extra classrooms and utility upgrades including a new main sewer line have also been completed.

Previous renovations to the school, built in 1948, were in 1992, when it the school was modernized, and a technical center was added, the release states. In 1966, a new wing to house the library and new classrooms was completed.
