How's the Price? Greenspring Shell after Renovations
On Monday night, regular gasoline was $3.37 per gallon, three cents higher than the $3.34 per gallon at the Mobil station at 1509 Reisterstown Road.
Some Pikesville Patch Facebook fans have said in the past that Shell at Greenspring Shopping Center had higher prices than some other stations in Pikesville.
But, since Shell reopened after renovations this fall, the prices seem comparable. Have you noticed?
And how can anyone help but notice the TV set up at each gas pump?
Here are the lowest gasoline prices elsewhere in Pikesville, according to Pikesville Patch's Commute tool. This tool, located under "More Stuff" on the home page, lists prices, addresses and maps of where to get gasoline in Pikesville.
- $3.34 for regular, Pikesville Mobil, 1509 Reisterstown Road
- $3.35 at Shell, 1711 Reisterstown Road
- $3.36 at BP at Slade Avenue and Reisterstown Road
Click on Commute any time you need to fill up your vehicle. It also allows you to find prices in Randallstown, Owings Mills and Garrison.
What's your opinion about the renovations and changes at the Shell on 2859 Smith Ave.? Where do you go to get the cheapest gasoline, time after time? Is it important to get the least expensive, or is convenience what you're after?

I agree that while their prices are still a little higher, it is NOTHING like the 10-20 cents higher they used to be. Do you know why they finally decided to lower their prices?

Good question Marla, I'll look into that. Meanwhile, does anyone else know? -Janet

Look at prices for Plus and Premium. They are making up the difference with those knowing that in Pikesville you have a lot of Mercedes et al. that require the Plus/Premium gas. So jack those prices up, keep regular low, profit

I used to get the best gas mileage when I purchased my gas at this Shell station; I always figured it was because the other stations were watering down their gas (using more ethanol). Since the lower prices at this station, however, my mileage has been the same as if I purchased my gas elsewhere.
