Randallstown got a lot of love this week.
On a beautiful, sunny Valentine's Day, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz made two announcements:
The $450,000 renovations at the Randallstown Branch Library are complete, and a new, $10 million Walmart Super Center will be built at the now-defunct portion of the Liberty Road Plaza in Randallstown.
The Walmart, expected to open in 2012, will employ about 100 people during construction, and provide 350 permanent jobs.
And Randallstown residents turned the announcement into a celebration. When the county anticipated only 40 people would show for the Walmart announcement—there were only 40 chairs set up for attendees—more than 150 people attended.
And because there were dignitaries at the event, many were dressed to the nines.
It was a rousing, positive community event that every Baltimore County resident should have the chance to experience. Randallstown residents have a love for their community.
Here are some pictures of the events that began at noon, and ended at about 2 p.m. on Feb. 14, 2011.
