GET OUT: High Holidays, Wine Tasting

Live music, a garage sale, High Holidays, an educational seminar and a wine-and-beer tasting are all in store for you this weekend.

 

Take in some live music, buy yourself something new (to you!), welcome the High Holidays or learn something new about parenting, all in and around town this weekend.

SVET STOYANOV PERCUSSION RECITAL SPIRE SERIES

Where/When: First & Franklin St Presbyterian Church at 210 W Madison St. in Baltimore on Friday at 8 p.m.

Why Go: Award-winning marimba player and percussionist Svet Stoyanov will play a concert, including pieces by Bach, Reich and others.

Pricing: General admission: $15, students: $5

INNTERIMS GARAGE SALE

Where/When: Cambridge School in Pikesville, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Gently used household items are for sale at this special event! Mothers and families can come out and find a bargain on necessities.

Pricing: Free to browse

SELICHOT: THE HIGH HOLIDAYS BEGIN

Where/When: Beth El Congregation, 9 p.m. Saturday.

Why Go: The evening starts with services, and afterward, stick around for a screening of "18 Voices Sing Kol Nidre—The Secrets of a Sacred Chant From Those That Have Been Touched By It." Following that is a reception for everyone.

Pricing: Free

PARENTING BEYOND BELIEF SEMINAR

Where/When: Baltimore Homeschool Community Center, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Why Go: The Community of Ethical People is hosting this seminar that will teach you how to parent secularly in a religious world.

Pricing: $50

MT. WASHINGTON WINE ART & JAZZ FESTIVAL

Where/When: Quarry Lake Drive, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Why Go: What could be better than wine, beer and live music all in one place? On top of that, there will be vendors, a car show and even more, such as a moon bounce for the kids and a special appearance by the Orioles bird.

Pricing: Admission is free
