Go to a summer fair, meditate your cares away, learn more about the computer or spend some time (and money) at two local farmers markets.

 

Sure, there are plenty of fireworks displays this long, Fourth of July weekend. But that's not all. 

 

PIMLICO RACETRACK FAIR

Where/When: Pimlico Racetrack at 5201 Park Heights Ave. in Baltimore. 5 p.m. to noon, Friday and Saturday. And from 1 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday.

Why Go: Don't miss it! This is the fair's last weekend. There are rides, games, prizes, food, vendors, animals, shows and more. People of all ages can come out and have a good time. Fireworks are July 2.

Pricing: $2.50 (with 2-for-1 coupon available at the website); $5 otherwise; rides and food are priced individually 

 

TRUE NAMES ZEN BUDDHIST MEDITATION

Where/When: Breathe Books, 810 W. 36th St., Baltimore. 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: Wind down your work week at this relaxing meditation session that's open to everyone.

Pricing: Donation 

 

COMPUTER KNOW-HOW AT YOUR BRANCH

Where/When: Randallstown Branch Library at 8604 Liberty Rd. in Randallstown, at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Why Go: Sign up in advance and learn basic computer skills. This is great for people who are 13 years old and older.

Pricing: Free 

 

BALTIMORE FARMERS MARKET

Where/When: Holliday and Saratoga Streets in Baltimore. From 7 a.m. to noon Sunday.

Why Go: This is one of the area's most popular farmers markets, where a variety of local vendors and farmers come out to sell their wares. Why not spend a warm summer's morning browsing through what they have to offer?

Pricing: Free to browse 

 

OWINGS MILLS FARMERS MARKET

Where/When: JCC of Greater Baltimore, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., Owings Mills. From 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Why Go: If you want to stick closer to home, go to the JCC and get the same great produce at a smaller market.
