UPDATE: Science Showcase Debuts Dec. 18 at Krieger Schechter

A quarterly event at the day school will feature hands-on activities led by students' parents and grandparents who work in science.

The Krieger Schechter Day School will tap into a valuable resource in a quarterly science showcase coming to Pikesville—the parents and grandparents of the school's students.

Kids, from 4 to 14, will be able to participate in hands-on activities in chemistry, physics, engineering and other fields of science during a quarterly science showcase.

The Schechter Science Showcase will debut from 1-3 p.m., Dec. 18 at the school. Note that this is a change from the time posted in the original version of this story.

The events will be led by students' parents and grandparents who are in those fields, according to a news release from the school.

A representative from The Maryland Science Center will give the kickoff presentation at the event.

Among the sessions that will be offered during the showcase are:

  • Molecules in Motion
  • Dynamic Designs
  • Big Baltimore Boat-Off
  • Brain Boosters
  • Science Secrets

Also during the Dec. 18 event, the school plans to announce a partnership with the Maryland Science Center.

The event is free and is open to everyone in the community but reservations are required.

To make a reservation, RSVP the number of participants, their names and ages, to nsovik@soink12.ksds.edu .
