An armed robber stole money and drinks from an Owings Mills wine store and fired a shot.
Between 5:47 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. Sunday, a skinny man who was about 5 foot 9 inches tall, walked into Valley Village Wine and Spirits holding a revolver, according to a report from the Baltimore County Police Department's Pikesville precinct.
The store is located at 9171 Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills.
He forced a customer to the floor, then demanded money from the clerk. After he got $268, and two bottles of cognac or brandy worth $10, he fired a shot, the report states.
The suspect is described as a black man between the ages of 20 and 30, and he wore a black jacket and black pants, and ran toward Iron Horse Lane, the report states.

This is really getting out of hand in this area. Where are the police? I realize they can't be everywhere all the time but I never see them anywhere any of the time and I live about a mile from the station house. I suppose they are writing traffic tickets on 795. The criminals are not hanging out on the beltway. I'm done with my rant. Time to buy a new lock for my front door.

Police generally respond to crime as opposed to preventing it. The merchants need to have alarms, cameras, and DVRs so there is good evidence. When the police finally catch someone, they might be able to pin multiple robberies on them. The rare few merchants who can get Concealed Carry Permits for bank runs understand that police are minutes away when you have seconds.

If you read the other Patch publications, crime is occurring in many communities. It's a sad trend.

Security cameras and DVR's are still not going to stop it. Sucks that people can't arm themselves (legally) in Maryland... outside of their house.

To those demanding more police precense let me ask you this.
For Pikesville Precinct how many officers do you think patrol Reisterstown Road from the City line to Greenspring Valley Road and Liberty Road from the City line above Old Court? The answer might shock you.
Then tell me how many officers you think are handling Owings Mills and Reisterstown which is Reisterstown Road Greenspring Valley all the way up 140 and Rt. 30 to Carroll County line and out west to Liberty dam and east all the way and up Falls Road.
When you realize some of these precincts are patrolled by 5-8 officers at any given time it puts it in perspective doesnt it.

The only time I see police these days is when they are pulling over people on Greenspring Avenue by the Quarry, sometimes in multiple cars. It feels like they do more bullying than helping these days. I hope they catch the robber and cut off his hand. Oh wait, in our country we will just pay to keep him fed and housed. I'm so sad for the person working in the store.

Give the public and business owners the ability to carry concealed weapons! How hard is it to recognize that the criminals don't care about legally carrying weapons so everyone who isn't armed is a potential victim. Once criminals don't know who is going to defend themselves with guns, crime will drop because these cowardly simians only attack the defenseless. Once a few of these baboons are shot and maybe killed in self defense, they will realize that the danger of being shot is always there. Seriously, how hard is that to figure out? Let's stop this bleeding heart Democratic suppression that is keeping good people from protecting themselves and their families.
