An oil tank outside a Pikesville home was reportedly a prop for a burglary last week.
Between 1:25 and 4:29 p.m. Feb. 14, a burglar pried open a side window and stood on an oil tank to get into the home, according to a report from Baltimore County police.
The resident of the home in the 7900 block of Long Meadow Road came home and found her rear door open, and an alarm sounding, the report states.
The resident reported that jewelry was missing.
