Ralston Community Residents Lose More Than $34,000

A vehicle that was stolen was worth $30,000 and could have been unlocked with a spare key in the glove compartment, police say.

A couple in Ralston lost their $30,000 Ford, a wallet and credit cards, jewelry, GPS systems and Ravens tickets during a theft Tuesday, authorities said.

According to Baltimore County police, between 11 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, someone stole their vehicle from their home in the 100 block of Clarendon Ave., Pikesville.

The other items, including a car seat, were in the 2012 vehicle.

During the investigation, the male victim said he thought the vehicle doors were locked. However, police noted that, after the crime, there was no evidence of broken glass or other damage left behind.

The victim also said a spare key was stored in the glove compartment.

The two residents suffered fraudulent charges made to credit cards, including an attempted purchase at Walmart in Arbutus.

Police said they are working to get video surveillance from that store.

The stolen property was worth $4,730, the report states.
