Kohl's Accepting Scholarship Nominations of Teen Volunteers

Send in nominations by March 15, 2012, for the Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program for Outstanding Young Volunteers.

"Kohl's will honor more than 2,200 youth, ages 6-18, who have made a positive impact on their communities," according to a news release.

Kohls Department Stores will award 2,200 students a total of more than $420,000 in scholarships and prizes, it states.

Prizes range from $10,000 each for top winners, to $50 Kohl's gift cards.

Submit a nomination at kohlskids.com.

“Through the Kohl’s CaresScholarship Program, Kohl’s recognizes young volunteers who dedicate their time, energy and passion to helping others and bettering the communities we live in,” Julie Gardner, Kohl’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer said in a news release.

" ... We encourage parents, teachers, neighbors and friends to nominate outstanding young volunteers at kohlskids.com.”

"Two nominees from each of the more than 1,100 Kohl’s stores nationwide will win a $50 Kohl’s gift card, and more than 200 will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education," the release states.

Kohl’s Department Stores is based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., Kohl’s (NYSE: KSS). It operates 1,127 stores in 49 states.
