Adelberg, Rudow’s Thomas Kohn Begins Term as JCC Arts & Culture Council Chairman
Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC (ARD&H) Member Thomas D. Kohn, Esq. has begun serving as chairman of the JCC of Greater Baltimore’s new Arts & Culture Council.
A JCC board and executive committee member, Kohn previously led an Arts and Culture Task Force comprising fellow board members, JCC staff, a consultant, local artists, community leaders and patrons of the arts to determine “what people wanted and what could be possible with respect to having the JCC serve as a springboard for music, dance, drama and other arts, all of which could be viewed through a Jewish prism.”
Their goal is to create “an active and compelling array of Jewish arts and culture programs, events and activities to be offered to people of all ages at the JCC’s Owings Mills and Park Heights facilities, and beyond.”
Moving forward, the Council, with leadership from its new managing director, Randi Benesch, will: 1) set a new mission for Jewish Arts and Culture at the JCC of Greater Baltimore; 2) set a vision statement for the next three-to-five years on how to get there, and 3) create a business plan to help understand the funding necessary to bring the plan to reality and advise on how to secure that funding.
“I look forward to leading the Council in establishing the roadmap for redefining and reimagining the performing, fine and cultural arts that will become the heart and soul of what we offer to the Baltimore community,” Kohn said.
Bringing over 25 years legal experience, Kohn focuses his practice on business and corporate law, civil and commercial litigation and franchise law. His clients range from small entrepreneurial businesses, including health care private practices, to large privately-held companies.
Kohn joined ARD&H after serving as a principal in Lenrow, Kohn & Oliver, P.C., the firm he co-founded in 1995.
