Andrew Radding, a member of the law firm Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf & Hendler, LLC, was elected to the Criminal Law & Practice Section Council of the Maryland State Bar Association. 

Comprising nearly 500 Maryland prosecutors, private criminal defense attorneys, public defenders, law professors, appellate and trial judges, and court administrators, the Criminal Law & Practice Section focuses on getting members' interest in criminal justice and improving criminal law.

In addition to sponsoring frequent educational programs, the section publishes a newsletter about statutory and case law developments, and other news of interest to criminal law practitioners.

It also advises the MSBA Board of Governors on criminal justice issues and provides policy perspectives to the Maryland General Assembly and criminal justice agencies and groups.

“After I stepped down as a federal prosecutor in Maryland, criminal defense—especially in the white-collar arena, has been a major part of my practice,” Radding said. “I look forward to joining the section council and working on the major issues confronting the criminal justice system.”

Radding, who joined ARD&H in 1997, focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, complex commercial litigation, civil and domestic litigation, and representation of professionals in courts and administrative tribunals. 

He previously served as Assistant Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives, Select Committee on Crime and as Assistant United States Attorney in Maryland, where he prosecuted complex conspiracy and related substantive charges in Federal Court.

Currently serving as president of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, Radding is a past president of the Baltimore Bar Foundation, the Baltimore chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the Simon E. Sobeloff Law Society. He also has chaired the Steering Committee of the U.S. Attorney's Alumni Society of Maryland since its founding, and was a University of Baltimore School of Law adjunct professor for 20 years.

Elected to Who's Who in American Law every year since 1996, and recognized by Maryland Super Lawyers annually since 2006, Radding earned a Juris Doctor from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree from Baruch School of the City College of the City University of New York. He resides in Pikesville with his wife, Bonnie.
